meet chloe

founder of k9pwatrol rescue company

what are earth made you want to start a dog rescue? is it a lot of work?
Good question- helping out at other organizations was what got my foot in the door. Seeing what happens at high kill shelters was beyond eye opening, seeing how people treated these innocent animals was beyond heart wrenching. These cases will never leave my mind or my heart and that's what drove me, I needed to be their voice and their help. Sharing some of these cases with my family and seeing their reactions, like mine- it wasn't even a question, they gave their support, 100%. My family is what actually made my dream of saving lives come to life and I couldn't have done it without my family's support nor without: the k9pawtrol unit, the board, the fosters, the volunteers and adopting families!

what do you enjoy doing for fun?
I enjoy being with my family. Their presence alone makes me feel like laughing. Growing up, I never took that for granted. I am truly blessed with such strong and supportive people that I love so much.
I love being outdoors! Whether we are adventuring on the beach or hiking wooded trails - I can't get enough. Seeing my dogs in their element and so happy is truly my therapy, my motivation. Afterwards, I am so mentally and physically refreshed, it's a win win for all of us! Traveling- I would love to travel and explore new places!

favorite quote?

favorite food?
Everything. Haha just kidding, kinda. But more specifically my top 3 favs are:
My mom's Caramel oatmeal bars. Then pizza- margarita is probably my favorite and fresh Mexican food, can't beat that fresh guac!

best doggie advice, just in general for people thinking about adopting a rescue dog.
First off, thank you. Thank you for considering a rescue doggie! Their heart beat would not beating if it weren't for you and your family! Getting dogs in a routine I think is the most important. So with a little time, they know when they need to do their business.. when it's family time.. when it's their own time!  Routines allow for structure and structure allows for success. You will see that most rescue doggies aim to please... making you happy is what drives them, so the routines guide them, so there is praise all around. But most importantly - Love- these dogs love the love and thats truly all they want! If it doesn't happen right away please be patient, it can totally take time to establish trust and routines and that's okay because the end result is totally worth the wait as you nurture them! ❤️

where do you see your rescue in 5 years?
Saving so many more beautiful doggies! Finding more amazing people that see what we are trying to accomplish! This is absolutely a team effort and we always need help, truly. In my dream, I see a facility- where we can house dogs, rehabilitate, have training sessions, a facility to help educate people and kids and raise awareness. This is my vision -  I constantly imagine a place to provide all this love so with the support and motivation from you guys, I know we will get there.

do you have any personal dogs?
Absolutely I do! I am one proud fur mama of two! My Paisley, I got roughly two years ago she's a pitty/ lab blend. Her story is one of the reasons I was driven to help dogs. My other dog- Winston, he is my big love and really doesn't know his size - if he could talk he'd probably say he's about 25 pounds.😂 But real life he is 90 pounds, and I think all heart. Yes, he is a pretty pitty, too.
